Indra's nest
The reality of the universe is an infinite net whose intersections are crystal pearls. All pearls are connected, and each pearl is reflected in all pearls, and all pearls are reflected in one pearl.
In a single crystal pearl, all the other pearls are reflected, forming a first level of reflection. And in each reflected pearl appears the reflection of all the other pearls, forming a second level of reflection. These reflections are repeated infinitely in abyss [just as an object placed between two mirrors is reflected infinitely]. It's the same for all phenomena that feed into each other to produce other phenomena.
Soûtra de l’Entrée dans la dimension absolue, Gaṇḍavyūha-sūtra, Patrick Carré (traduction, préface, notes) Translations
No phenomenon exists in itself. No phenomenon is independent of other phenomena. Indra's net magnificently demonstrates the emptiness of all things, in a dynamic in which everything penetrates each other while displaying its own characteristics. Diversity is produced in the unity of the principle of interdependent origination ceaselessly operating.
All phenomena exist as a result of a single great conditioned emergence.
Phenomena, things and people, appear, disappear, transforming into interdependence as circumstances constantly change.
What does this tell us?
