Zazen solo or online

Even if there are only 3 or 4 people, online zazen is very different from solo zazen.

The presence of others, the greetings (gasshō), the sounds of the bell, extend the space of our room into a place of shared practice that is not virtual, but truly concrete.

These appointments, which become regular, these silent encounters, gradually form the basis of our daily life in a way that is stronger and deeper than solo practice, simply because it's experienced with other people present.

zazen in a temple

Online zazen does not replace collective practice in a temple: days and nights are punctuated by zazen, which underpins all activities and relationships in the community. Such a practice of zazen and daily tasks, both individual and collective, deepens our understanding of ourselves and our relationship to beings and things.

Situations mirror everything that happens in our mind and body. In this way, we can develop greater lucidity about the place our ego takes in our lives. And we can develop greater awareness and insight into our relationships with the world.

The harmony of the one and the many is a daily practice
